To truly progress as a Muslim, you must always have betterment in your sight. You must always have a goal you are trying to reach.
Try to fast one day a week, or pray sunnah, or just memorize an ayah. Just try to make yourself better. When you have a goal, the straight path seems wider below your feet.
Narrated Sahl bin Sad Al-Saidi (Radi-Allahu ‘anhu):
Allah’s Apostle (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “A place in Paradise equal to the size of a lash is better than the whole world and whatever is in it.”

Remember Allah in times of ease, and He will remember you in times of distress. What hit you could not have missed you; what missed you could not have hit you. Victory comes with patience, relief with affliction, and ease with hardship.
